Hi everyone.
I just had a new furnace installed yesterday, and due to a wiring error, my A/C ran last night. It was disconnected from the coil with the furnace change, and the refrigerant was pumped into the compressor. The tech who just came over to fix the wiring said the unit would trip out on thermal overload, but wasn't sure of sure about any damage that may have occurred.
Should I worry about this? I have a 7-year old HS29-030 if that means anything. Also, it was 10 degrees here last night!
Thanks for the help.

Larry, do you have a gas "furnace" or electric "air handler"?

I have a downflow 80% furnace in my home.

I am just trying to figure out why the coil disconnect on a furnace change out. Was your coil setting on top of the "down flow" furnace?

The a-coil was changed out because it was the same age as the old furnace. I had the A/C changed out 7 years ago, but the coil was re-used. This furnace sits in a closet with the hot water heater right in front of it. Bad home layout design, but it is 40 years old!
That's why the coil was disconnected. I'm just worried about the A/C & it's compressor. I didn't hear the A/C run last night. The stat was setup incorrectly and only ran on the first heating stage, so it was a cool night last night!
Wiring is corrected, the furnace is running just fine now, but my A/C?

Ok were on the same page now, you threw me with the furnace change only, in your first post. I say your fine, I would not worry about it now.

Well, I assumed the brains of the system protected it, but thanks for the reassurance.
