I'm installing a Renewaire EV130 on the vertical return air and there isn't much distance away from the furnace, maybe 7 feet. In order to keep the minimum 3' distance between the room air and fresh air connections, I'm only 4' from the furnace. I was thinking of using butterfly backdraft dampers to mitigate to high flow of air being drawn into the furnace. Has anyone installed an ERV so close to a furnace? If so, what type of backdraft dampers did you install and where did you place them?
