I have calculated balance point of 31 degrees and an outdoor temp sensor. I set the IAQ's 0350 to 30 and 0360 to 35. Is this correct?

I think not.

Setting 200 is 0. Would it be better to not use these settings at all?

I don't know of a problem you'll have with your settings unless you need to recover from a set back and defrost at the same time.

If your total electric go with these settings and see how you like it. Should be more economical.

Just remember the pump will defrost at times when the outdoor temps are
in the upper 30's ... when it does this the air from your supplies will be cool.
To warm the temp up during defrost you'll need to raise the aux lockout up to around 40. Alot of people would not notice the cooler supply temps and it's only during the defrost.

Thanks for your help, would it be better to drop the compressor lockout (0350) down to 25. They have said that sometime when it is below freezing that the air out of the registers is very cool. So bring up the Aux lockout to 40 would take care of that problem. What is your thoughts.

Was wondering why HVACVEGAS wrote, I Think Not. Is there a reason behind this?

It's for recovery. You've created a situation where electric heat will all most never come on.
It would depend on your COP of your equitment. I wouldn't lock it out untill your COP gets down there. Whats the worst that could happen? Equitment doesn't keep up, and has to use electric heat...which it will do anyways, as long as your not locked out through 360.

If your running high HSPF equitment, I'd go 20. Could be lower. I'd set aux lock at higher than 35. I don't know where without running numbers.

Personal opinion.

Thank you for the input, I agree on letting the equiptment do the work. Would adding the discharge air temp. sensor (Part # C7835A1009) help keep the heat more accurate or is this sensor only for the function of the telephone access module? The main complaint I am getting is that the air feels cool, however they are also concerned about the system being as efficiant as possible.

All electric, I wouldn't lock the compressor of til 10 or 0. By then the temp rise is pretty minimal so any running without backup is pretty drafty. That HP will still be pretty efficient, what little it is doing, but from a comfort standpoint, I wouldn't run it. Many others will disagree.

Certainly wouldn't shut it off at 30 at all! It's still heating good at that point. I'm dual fuel and run the pump down to 20.

And so the bald one has spoken, and so let it be so. *catholic choir sings*

Yep.

Thank you all for your help. Anyone have experience with the HW discharge sensor.
