As a new member to this site, I am having trouble posting a question for the experts dealing with a backward installed TxV? I have no idea how this valve works and fully believe it is the reason my bill is exhorbitant. Need help, if could direct me to the proper area? I have used search but have found no explanation or result if this valve is installed backwards as Ive been told by two HVAC folks and told by my installer ( a large Chain Dept Store) that it is in correct. Unit runs an extemely long time in both A/C and Heat Modes and is a 14 seer Carrier Heat Pump. Can anyone direct me to the proper location for some answers.
Thank you

It's not the TXV.

I would have a pro repair the valve. You do not have the equipment to change it properly.

You would have to work VERY hard to install a TXV backwards.
I'm with the others, call a professional to evaluate the system.
If the company that you are currently dealing with doesn't have any techs who know better, then you may need to find a new contractor.

If the TXV was in backwards. Your heat pump would not work in heat or cooling mode.

Look into better insulating and sealing your house. That will cut you bill down quite a bit. It will also cut down on your run times.
