compressor shorted to ground ,medium burn out,talked to mitsi tech support they say cut out strainer in condensing unit and install biflow ek dryer in its place and leave it there permenetly.seems a little odd to me,there philosophy is no restrictions in line set,wont the filter dryer cause problems.any comments welcomed

The drier is acting like a strainer however I would install pressure Taps on each side of the dryer to check pressure drop across It. To answer your question It shouldn't cause a problem If it blocks up then you have a problem. May I ask what caused the Failure of the Compressor?

mitsubishi is 100% right, do what they told you, If it was a bad burnout ,triple-evac. change the filter,run the unit for a month,go back dump the charge, change the filter one more time and move on.

thanks guys for the input ,not sure what caused the failure,but i will check it out real good when i get it going.hope it dosent come back to the reversing valve,should be a good day outside 50 f tomorrow,first time since last fall,cya
