Has anyone had experience with restring kits for hearing coils. I have an Amana with an obsolete heating kit and I have never restrung on before. How effective are they? Any feedback is appreciated.

Use re-string kits all the time. Never have any problems.

I have done allot of them, but its been a couple of years now. Sort of gone the way, like swagging copper. Easier to just by the replacement strips and stick them in. If you do restring just got to make sure you got the right kw and voltage. And sometimes you have to change out the thermals if the stock ones dont have the same end connections. O ya, dont over tighten the things either (CRACK). I have some on my truck that have been there so long I cant read the kw or volts anymore.

Did one today. Make sure it's the right voltage and Kw. Done quite a few of them, any idiot can do them, even me.
