Looked at Trane rooftop heat pump today and complaint was that it heated sporadically, with little details besides that the maintenance tech has changed the filters and that "sometimes it puts out 100 degree air, then it gets colder."He also stated that it "May have displayed a 'Cool' fault" We have a BAYSEN019A control that I believe has been changed a couple of times by maintenance. First thing I did was get into the program and found that it was set up fo CV and not HP use(The BAYSEN019A) which according to the instructions, would not allow the use of "Emergency Heat" I set for HP. Noted heavy frost on outdoor section of unit and cycled on the cooling to clear it, which it did rapidly. Ran unit, and as tech manual stated, it tried for defrost at the 30 min mark.Ambient was 35 DB with heavy precipitation, with a back pressure of 37-40 psig. When the unit went for defrost, the compressor stopped, 4way shifted over, compressor started and ran for a few seconds, then stopped. The BAYSENS019A then displayed a "Test" icon which was flashing. The compressor stayed off and electric heaters were pulling current. When switching over to emergency heat, the BAYSEN019A would always indicate "Heatfail". Luckily I was able to salvage a book from the bottom of the unit that I am now drying out (great place for it, right?) Anyone who has seen one of these units with the ReliaTel electronics, any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
