I have a client that has a machine & manufacturing warehouse. The scenario that I am running into is that the oil used in his machines get sucked in by the units which in return prematurely soak the filters. What is currently being used is standard metal holding frames with polyester pads. Any recommendations or solutions would be greatly appreciated….

Switch to a rigid framed pleated type filter rather than the pad type.

I have worked with this type of operation before. One thing I did was go to a 15" bag
filter with 4" pleat prefilter. It is pretty expensive but gets the job done.
Also source capture at machines such as mist collectors works.
Another thing I have used if machines are on a central system is cooling of oil, that is
if chilled water is available to run oil through a heat exchanger.

I know these work pretty well but they can require as much maintenance as just replacing the filters more often. The ones I worked on did anyway, but they did remove the oil mist.

Fxb you are absolutliy correct about smog-hogs they do require a lot of maintence,
but when maintained they do the job.
