If you want to upgrade that old S984 consider Johnson System350. I have upgraded lots of those with the 350's at a fraction of the price. Just my 2 cents worth...

Typically the micro switches fail before anything else. You can actually buy the exact Honeywell switches across the counter at Graingers and rebuilt the thing as long as the electronics work, which I bet they do.

I have a lot of those out in the field on pneumatic controls and I rebuilt them. It's relatively easy if you are working on a bench in comfort.
