We are in St Petersburg FL and am in dire need of a condenser tube cleaning machine. The tubes are 3/4". Does anyone know where I can rent one? I'll be glad to buy the brushes, etc but don't want to fork out $1100.00 to buy the machine as we only have a limited number of chillers we service.
Thanks

Be a man and do it with a brush!! I found the machines are good to use if you have the proper room to get to the vessel, but if it's a tight spot just use the rods and brushes. It will take longer to do but is less of a headache!!
If the tubes are inhanced(Threaded inside) then you will need a machine that will turn the brush one direction going in and then reverse direction coming out. It is also nice to have some water going in to wash while all this is happening. Goodway makes a good machine for this type work. However I feel sure you can't touch one of these machines for $1100. more like $3k plus. Then all the stuff you need to make it go is extra.( exra cables, brushes and fitting are a must.) Its well worth the price if you have the work to justify it. No info on rentals, maybe goodway can put you onto someone in your area that has one they will rent, loan, or you can sub out to. Also there have been some recent post here about cond.tube cleaning you may be interested in. I hope all works out well.

Chillers are expensive and so are the tools.
Rods and brushes do the best job. You'll like this part, they're cheap too.

I have seen one of the Trane dealers advertising that they rent Goodway's machines... I didn't ask about any pricing on that, but I did see the signs..

Our Goodway Rep. was so sure we would love their autofeed machine, he let us use it before we bought it. After brushing 4,000 tubes on our 2 chillers, we were sold. Contact Goodway, I remember seeing something about rentals or leases.
