I have a lennox hp xp15-030 and Im looking for operating specs.Should hp still be operating below 32f.Its been 3 yrs since installed which I was not available at installation.I think I remember somebody saying that my hp does not operate below freezing.Aux electric heat on.Which keeps house around 60f inside.I have no flooring in house just concrete floors would that effect inside temps?

It should still be running at temps below 32 when you have aux electric heaters. Someone set yours up wrong, if it doesn't. And it is costing you a lot of money on your heating bill.

That's backwards, we tend to install devices to lockout Electric strip heat use other than defrost untill it gets below 40, for energy efficiancy.

With a slab built home you are going to need all the heat you can, your inside temps are going to be governed by the temerature of the concrete.

I have a 2-ton heat pump in my 2,000 sq ft slab ranch home. It does just fine. My balance point is about 35 degrees outside. Below that outdoor temperature, the outdoor unit runs constantly and the strip heat cyles to maintain temperature.

Please note that as it gets colder outside, the supply air temperature will drop. This is normal and expected.

Your balance point will depend on the design and the climate you are in.

What about the older lennox units that have the emergency heat switch on the t-stat that needs to be flipped manually and when switched it turns the HP off and the heat strips on.

I have a electric forced air furnace w/ 2 big bi-metal strips that heat up as aux. heat. All I have is concrete on the floor no flooring is that a major source why interior temps are low?I have looked at the manuals that came w/ hp and furnace nothing in them talks about temp cutoff for hp.Should I concact my installerabout low cutoff?

Emergency heat is only for use in extreme cold.

When set up correctly, the heat strips automatically cycle on and off while the heatpump runs continuously below the balance point.
