I have a quote on a new American Standard System.

Can somebody tell me what these units translate in comparison to models in the Trane line?

3.5 ton 12 seer heat pump
condenser model #2a6h2042a1

3.5 ton variable speed air
handler model # twe040-e

The rep advised the combination of both will give me a total seer rating of 13.0. Is this true?

Aside from the cabinets and logos are there any other differences?

Does one brand tend to run any more expensive than the other?

Your match is rated at 13.00 SEER.

The Heritage 12 is the same except for cabinetry as the XR12. I think that would be a 2TWR2042. Air handlers are identical, there's a door in the cardboard box where the sticker can be put on to decide what brand it is.

Prices vary between distributors & dealers. I don't think it's right to say that one is more than the other universally. Couple of our biggies locally sell Trane and are getting one h--- of a price!

That's it...a different snap-on tag.
