Whole House Humidifiers

A Co-Worker of mine asked about a recomendation for a stand-alone type humidifier for his house, preferably one for upstairs and one for downstairs. He does have a forced hot air system but would rather not go with a duct mount type.

I'm only familiar with Commercial Wall Mount Nortec type units so I post here on the residential side to get a knowledgable answer.

Can anyone help with recommended types, brands, pros and cons etc?

i have no experience with these, but i think aprilaire make one. may be the model 350? someone else can probably help more.

I (gje1) posted a thread on 3-1-2005. Humidity controll-any ideas.
