I'm specifying a concentric vent for a separated combustion unit heater that I'm also specifying for my projects throughout California. Due to snow condition, this concentric vent is going through a high side wall and below the eave with perforated soffit vent for the attic.
Does anyone know what are the minimum clearances around this concentric vent? Does it have to extend beyond the edge of the overhang so that flue gas will not get into the soffit vent? Or can I get away with it by placing it 4 feet below the eave? Or better yet, block off the perforated soffit vent 4 feet from each side of the vent and not have to extend the concentric vent out. This concentric vent really looks funny by extending out so far. If I extend it out beyond the edge of the overhang, will I need additional supports?
Thanks in advance.
