You need to have this information on hand or the flow chart for that design barrel. The correct number of passes ( I have had several original submittals for a 2 pass machine on a 3 pass chiller barrel). Where did you come up with divide the Delta P by 2 ? You use one accurate gauge on the inlet (high pressure) and the same gauge on the outlet (lower pressure) the difference between those readings is your pressure drop. You take that figure and match it to you design submittals or your vessel flow chart. It is always better to have the design spec's as this way you have all the information.-GEO

pd across a barrel should be taken at the barrel.
you're taking pd across a pump, which will not give you flow thru a piece of equipment.
pump curves are available from the manufacturer, and are not affixed to any piece of equipment.
if you're looking for characteristics required for a chiller, or any piece of equipment, you need to go to that manufacturer.
and, you should take readings with 1 gage.

.....and gauge DP divided by 2 gives you half of your differential pressure, no matter what you're reading across. Half of your differential pressure tells you nothing about anything, even if you're using a gauge that's calibrated in feet of water.

DP in psig x 2.317 (or DP/.433) gives feet in head.

As far as "anyone want to add": I'd like to add that I'm old(er) and don't go much for a post that reads like a teenagers text message. Complete answers need complete explanations of the issue at hand, preferably in text that doesn't require decipherment. *Note the wording/spelling used in the answers to your opening post.

I agree with the preceding in regards to your spelling and syntax. I would hate to read your service tickets! :) That being said, you ask a lot of interesting questions in your posts, and inspire a good deal of conversation. This is a good thing!

Also, keep the gauge at the same height for both measurements, if you would like to be sure that you readings are accurate.

If you don't mind me asking. Do you work for a Trane office?

The point I was trying to make about reading the other post was that you already asked the same question (I think ???) in that post only this time you chose to ask it in Swahili !!!!! or some other language .

Theres a handy key word search on here that will usually find you what you are looking for , unless its a very specific question .

I doubt it Trigger as if he did he would have access to a whole library of info and wouldnt have time to post on here coz he would be reading forever ......lol
