I'm going to site with the air handling unit manufacturer & building operator to increase the discharge air temp. on an air handling unit.

Anybody know what a recommended max. supply air temp would be not to burn people?

I was thinking of setting the AHU SAT at 130F. Is that adequate?

I think so. a lot of oil furnaces have 250 degree limits and are running on them. old gas furnaces had 75F delta T. thats like 145 out

What kinda of AHU? Direct fire or indirect fire? Wet heat? Push through or pull through?

I would look up the manufactures specs first. We have some units that can run 160 degree discharge. We also have others that have to be below 120.

Check and see if there are HEAT DETECTORS in the areas the unit is supplying and see the RATING on them , or if they are rate of rise , no need to be stiing off the FIRE ALARM.

Checked out the unit specs and did the temp. rise based on actual air flows on site. Can only push 120F discharge air temp. Current discharge air temp is 100F and i'm getting complaints!

FYI, unit is indirect gas fired.

Good to know furnaces push out 145F, ive never put a thermometer on the discharge of my furnace to find out what temp that is cuz it does get quite hot.

well i have seen max temp rises as low as 55F with 70F return that would only be125F
