Hi,
working on a carrier #30RB, and found that both H.G. by pass valve ( it’s a two refrig. circuit, and these H.G. valve are the small ones) are not closing 100%, leaking into the refrigerant chiller barrel. I am not sure if it’s so new design, or crap! Do you know about this?
thank you.

Hello graham,
Well thank you for your input on that problem that I am having, but I don’t think Beano is going stop the leak or explain it. But I do appreciate the effort that you tried to answer my question, that’s the most important thing. So is that it, no one has anything to say? Did I do something wrong or is this your best? If I found two of these valves doing this I am sure others have found this or know why.
Thank you

Hi Disquew,
You asked how? I can hear and feel it, by sound and temperature of the exiting line. I guess that it’s about ten percent or so compared to when it’s open. Danfoss made it. I thought they were a good co.
Thank you

Hello thegoodlistener,
I am sorry, but i don't understand what you are asking me. Could you please not use abbreviations? Sorry about that, I throw all my carrier manuals in the trash, and then burned them slowly. I hate abbreviations!
Thank you

You can contact Carrier representative And maybe they will send you a book on your chiller, Are you experienced in large chillers? You may want to read up on your chiller or get help.

Hi all,
Let’s see, three words M….. L….. V….., hold my hand, if you say so. Sarcasm, that’s all, I thought you all would understand that. Well my mistake sorry for the misunderstanding. I looked in the manual but did not see MLV. I could call carrier but I burned my phone I hate being on hold and I don’t give out my phone number. Oh!! Man there I go again. That now my second mistake! Darn!
Well no help on my leaks. These valves are on many chillers. Just shut it down and send the good listener. If you find one, let’s talk.

You all are funny; don’t want to lose those job security secrets, a real help place! LOL x 250. Since no one will help on the – what is MLV
(.,.,people don’t mind to guide a little but not to hold ones hand and make the $$ for them), , I will try to guess to make it as little work as possible. Please note: I gave this some thought and looked in the manual, is it Main Liquid Valve, EXV?
LOL, so you say: you don’t mind giving a little help, if three words is a lot of help, what is your little help?:nopity:
Thank you for your help

I will tell you the funny. You come on here bashing equipment and say that you have something broken and you are 100% sure that its bad. If I were in your situation I would have quoted the repair and performed the repair with a lot less fanfare. I probably would have never even posted that there was a problem in the beginning if I was 100% sure. But that's what I would have done and I am not you. I've never seen a man made component that didn't break.

Sir, thegoodlistener,
I was not bashing equipment; I have not done anything wrong here. I don’t like abbreviation, repeats, and jumping around while reading, while going throw the settings. Also making phone calls, getting bad help, or waiting for call backs, from the dealers. And if they wrote their books to be helpful and their electrical Diagrams with no missing pieces, I would not put down their books. I have asked you a question from your question, but you refuse to answer, but instead you have insulted me!
I guess rules don’t mean anything here do to the fact that nothing was said about your phonics, fan mail, to hold ones hand insults.
By the way, I am not sure that the valves are bad because.-
(1) Two are doing it.
(2) Maybe some new kind of design.
I don’t want to change them and find out that the new one’s do the same thing. I am not looking for fan mail.
I came here to get some help and found no help but was insulted. I can’t even get an answer to what a –MLV- from anyone. I can understand no one knowing about my valve problem, but not to explain what- MLV- means, is plain unfriendly ! a sign that I am not welcome here. Have fun playing games.

I like repeating myself and sometimes I jump around but hey that`s me. And yes I like to break the rules sometimes too. When I think about the books I just read then re-read unitl it finally soaks in I will be the first to say I am not the sharpest guy out there ,just smart enough to dig myself out of a jam. MLV`s are the same as HGBP. From what I hear ASHREA if I got that abbrevation correct doesn`t really approve of wasting energy with a HGBP so MLV`s are small clever ways to get the point across in a PC (politaclly correct ) manner. Everyone as far as I am concerned is welcome here there are a lot of guys here that contribute lots of knowledge that got their start just like you.:argue:

Now that you let the "Cat out of the Bag", I'll add these two attachments.

Was having fun reading all the squabbling first.

All you gotta do is "google" Carrier/Commercial/Literature, and plug in the model number of the unit you are looking for information on.

Note, in the 30RB literature, Carrier refers to the valve as "Minimum Load Control". However, in 30G,H literature, they refer to it as "Minimum Load Valve". Same thing, different product, different engineers, different literature writers.
