But less than a year after hanging up the gauges - I actually miss the sound of a machine room, the smell of refrigerant oil, the sight of a rack, and feeling the 'pulse' of an operating system.

As much as this line of work has frustrated me over the years - life aint quite the same.

Maybe its one of those 'it gets worse before it gets better' kinda feelings - or - maybe I'm just a whiner......

A while back, I got out of the trade for about six months or so, went to work as an in-house guy at one of the larger casinos here is Vegas. Went completely batsh!t. Found out I'm just not ready for a 'retirement' gig yet. Sounds like you're feeling the same pain. Been missing your posts, bud. Where ya been?
