i am reading an iom manual and it says the following.,

1 Attach the 3/8” or 1/2” hose with a sightglass in
the middle to the oil sump drain valve and the
condenser service valve at the top of the
condenser.

2 After the unit is off line for 10 minutes move the
sightglass along the edge of the condenser tubesheet at the same height of the oil sump.

why would one move across condenser tube sheet anyways?,
my question is that if one moves the sight glass along the cond tube sheet,,
at the same height of the oil sump??

I didn't look at the IOM to see how it was worded, but I think it just tells you that because you can't really get to the oil sump since it's behind the condenser. Do youself a favor and do as some of the other guys on this site have. Go to a hose shop and have a piece of clear high pressure hose made up to use as you siteglass. I had two made up, one for poe and on for mineral oil. 12" long with 1/4" male flare fittings on each end so you can hook them to standard refer hoses, works great!

Is it just me, or is that the worst possible location for the oil sump on that machine. I am very glad there aren't many RTHC units in my area, because they can be a real pain in the @$$. The RTHD is a vast improvement, IMO

I would think you could find something local, try a shop that sells hydraulic hoses, fittings, and such.
