Has anyone been to the Trane sales bootcamp put on by Steve Howard. If so is it worth the money. If not are there any that are.

I went two years ago. I was ready to quit being a tech rep and start selling. Very motivational. Shows you some great ways to deflect objections. I've seen some great success stories from those that follow their program.

I thought if you put on an orange apron, skirt, diaper or whatever they call it and stand at the door of a hardware store, you have achieved the superior distinction of salesman status, therefore, further training is no longer a requirement.

Went to one in Colombia, SC. My equipments sales are up 30% from last year. That program paid for itself and then some.

That is the way I used to go through life. "I am one smart MFing air conditioning guy so you should buy stuff off of me."
I spent hours figuring out jobs and preparing bids. And not making much money.
Then I went to a Dale Carnegie Sales Course and low and behold everybody started to realize what a smart MFing air conditioning guy I am. Also, I am now rich beyond my wildest dreams. :Dhhahahahahahahaahahahaha:D
Bottom line is if you are in business you need sales training. Don't kid yourself about this. "Oh! I've been doing okay! I know how to sell."-------- No you don't!

I have a bad habit of talking people outta buying systems they don't need.
Or would they lynch me on the spot?

Secondly, the box with the filled out forms is the lead generator, not the man standing their holding brochures. The man might as well be a sperm donor, atleast he is knowledgeable with this product if he can not give you any information concerning the equipment.
Let me ask you, when was the last time you went to a seminar, convention or a kiosk in a mall and the person representing the product could not educate you about their product and they just told you to please fill out this form, someone will call you? I guess all other industries and I are just marketing incorrectly.

..This would be arrogant, and nobody likes an arrogant sales person. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with being a little cocky to project your convictions while educating a client. It is a very fine line where you need to watch yourself and not cross it.

..We spend time on job quotes, but hours closing the sale, and make good money.

..Our clients tell us we are a smart A/C company already when comparing us to our competition, so no sales courses are required. Although I will agree with you 100%, most technicians who start a company do need sales and business training in order to be successful.

Going to seminars is a good motivator for the people needing the push and acquiring different view points in salesmanship.

I always take at least one thing away from any training I've attended that makes me money. Either on the business end or technical end. It all adds up!
