Hi , Looking for help on solving a problem i have with an ac call.
Heres info : Split unit Goodman R-22
Air handler:A24-10 Sn 9806582824
Cond. unit: CK24-18 sn 9811449400
Arrived at call had 92 suction 310 head psi ambiant on roof at 100 deg. Supply reg had 73 degree air comeing out. Now the manager states that this unit was recently taken from one part of the building and installed in the space its in now which is 3 times the size. I have no exsperience in install and need help figureing this one out if its a bad install or not. So a gained access to the airhandler and i noticed there where 3 10" places on the return for flex duct, However only 2 holes had flex and the 3rd hole was open to the drop ceilling . So i cover up the 3rd hole and recovered some gas to get my psi's down to 68 /250. Now im back again the evap is a block of ice. Any replies are thanked in advance.

Check your superheat and subcooling to verify the refrigerant charge.

Basically the airflow has been reduced by 1/3rd. Couple that with undersized unit and I'd expect more freeze-ups down the road. One hates to do it but I find putting a simple freeze stat (llittle probe just gets put in the evap) that breaks the Y circuit to be simple insurance.
