this is probably simple to most people..can some body tell me how to cut ductboard.i just need to know the basics first.thanks to all.

There are 2 methods for cutting ductboard. "V" Groove and "Shiplap". We have a machine that cuts our board. It is set up for shiplap.
You can buy shiplab hand tools. They are harder to use than v-groove but you will have a stronger duct when it put together. Get a copy of SMACNA's fiberous duct construction manual. It shows you the RIGHT way to make duct with fiberglass board.

The proper name for the duct board notching tools is "kerfing" tools.
