Using Carrier Thermostat in Honeywell Zone Control Damper

I am having my house Zoned. I recently purchased a Carrier system that included an Edge thermostat. I was planning on having a Honeywell TrueZone system installed. I have received conflicting information about whether I can retain my Edge thermostat. One contractor says no, the other says yes.

So the question: Can I retain the Carrier Edge thermostat if I install a two-zone Honeywell Zone Control Damper (HZ322)?

As far as I know the Edge will work with a Honeywell system as long as the person wiring it has some working knowledge of the stat.
