the following pictures are of a job that i did last week. i forgot my camera for the before and after pictures, so its only an on going install. The old unit was rather large, in a laundry area, the h.o. couldn't open her dryer since she bought it.

the new unit(goodman, i know) was to be located in a secondary basement area, on the other side of a cinderblock wall. we have no hammer chisel, the hole was there for the exsisting supply(16x8) the remainder of wall was SLOWLY hammered away with a 5 lb maul. on with some pics...

the old return, and in the back, the old flue location.

the hole finally through, and lineset done.

hole for the return, my camera died at this point, i will try to get more on monday.

keep in mind, a day and a half i was totally by my self, my install partner has a tooth infection or some junk.

That dirty PVC brings down the whole job guy... I used to chuck garbage like that right back in the bin. If thats all you could get, pipe the stuff in the rafters with the dirty stuff and bring a stick of clean later for the money shot. To the customer, appearance often means more than brand, etc. Otherwise, nice job.

I hope thats not the 120vac electrical running down the left side. If so, shouldnt it be in some greenfield?

Actually Derrick... working with what you had... I'd say that's a pretty spanky install. I'd try a bit of bleach with water to polish up the PVC pipe. but if they are hooped from riding around in a truck, scratched, etc. condiser sanding and apply Melmine white paint, if there is a greater concern.

I have made a "Digeridoo" Australian musical instrument out of White PVC... and used Melmine white paint on it (PVC was grey) and it's stood up over six years now...

Haven't heard that word digeridoo since Lonnie Donnegan sang "Tie Me Kangaroo Down" :D

Tune was originally by Rolf Harris I believe... but will check out the Lonnie Donnegan version. :) But the Didge goes back waaaaaay before they were pounding on hollow logs as drums...
