Day Two at school we've already wired circuits in Series and Parallel with a switch. Does this make me a HVAC-Guy?
I'm just kidding! But it was pretty cool to learn some of the basic stuff.
You have to realize. I've been shifting gears in a UPS truck for 17yrs. This stuff is foreign to me. Anyway, I off to study my Psychometric Chapter.
Ya'll have a safe weekend!

You're a mind reader. I did just to make sure I had it. I moved the switch around to create series and parallel circuit.
I know it's not much, but beats the hell out of driving in pouring down rain,ice and snow. And don't forget about those service techs in a rush for their next call, They are rough on truck drivers!

Wait till your outside in that rain, sleet or snow. Tracing out those series parallel circuits. :D

Chit Yea! Take that Black Wire and White Wire and Series Them! You'll be better than any Hack on the block! By the end of the month you'll know more than we do.
Whut? UPS driver to HVAC? You joking or just bored?

Here in SC, driving a UPS Truck pays Goooood Money. I Happily Drive a UPS Truck! Now if he's going to "Moonlight" and stay on his UPS job, that would be a Plus!

Wait until the UPS driver hands you a box that looks like an elephant sat on it. That was supposed to be a critical circuit board you needed to finish a job. I bet you will say Merry Christmas to your friendly UPS driver. :tank:

I got caught in a weird lay-off situation. They closed the LTL Center down in Wichita Falls and I was suppose to transfer back to Dallas. However, my fellow union members raised so much hell, the Union Hall would back me. That's Local 745 if anyone wants to fact check me. Ask for Randy or Kris(Their both great guys!)

Gaffney,SC I can't remember the exit but there's a sweet little chicken shack and a grungy diner on both sides of the bridge.
It was great money. But the freakin stress...

that is exactly what i was going to say!!!!!!!!!
sleet ice snow wind rain hail storm 130 degree roof
*****ing customer stress beyond belief
dispatcher calling you every 3 minutes
are you done yet??????????

Are you trying to tell me, I'm not going to be driving around in my van, little freon here, change out a capacitor and high-five-n with the customer? I thought y'all had helpers to carry the umbrella... :)
supertek65

that may be unrealistic but not impossible!!!!!!!!!
2 days in school
series paralell circuits??
psych charts???????
i assume you have completely mastered ohms law and everything electrical????
now you are moving to the psych chart???
good!
by monday you should be able to plot a system with reheat and outside air
determine wb db rh dew point which is all the easy stuff
then plot the process line to determine how much sensible cooling and how much latent cooling you are doing!!!!:playing:

Just joking!
OHM'S LAW
I = V/R,
I = current, V = voltage, and R = resistance
*Depending on what you are trying to solve it can rearrange it two other ways.
V = I x R
R = V/I

I think School is good. You'll learn some things in school that you won't in the field (and things in the field you won't learn in school)! Sorry about your UPS job loss.
I can't say I know the "Choke & Puke" you're talking about in Gaffney SC. I'm sure everyone has not seen the Peach!
Welcome and Good Luck.

Wait till you get the customer that ask you if you know whats wrong, 2 minutes after your there. And you haven't even really checked anything yet. And they continue to ask every couple minutes.

I forgot about the peach. That's down the Hwy from the old Overnite Terminal, Now known as UPS Freight. I ran over a huge Lab in front of the Peach.
I'm a dog freak and it killed me that it happened.

You're killing me I thought I had this!
I studied this weeks before class started because I was so nervous! I can't lie, I don't squat about this stuff, not even the basic electricity.
I= E/R
R=E/I
E=I*R
P=E*I

Welcome to the studying for the field. I just started my second year. If you can get your process of operations for heating and cooling right; know your meter, know how to use hand tools, and have a good head for numbers and many times guesswork, you will make a great living in this field. Or so I'm told at least. What is coming up in your curriculum?
Just keep your head in the books, stop for a few extra-curriculars and you'll be just fine! This is coming from someone with a 3.71 cumulative GPA after three terms.
