My company just picked up a whole school district, and they have tons of old freezers 1950-1980. We have had the account for about 2 years and i have never seen them once change the equipment. They just keep wanting it repaired, no questions asked.. For awhile before we got the account there maintenance dept. was retrofitting all of the 502 freezers to 404a when a problem occured that caused for the system to be opened.. Well they didn't know that 404a wasnt a drop in for 502. They have caused alot of problems. Well i am working on one that is still 502 but i want to retrofit it right. What is the best alternative for 502. Also what all is involved in each retrofit.. All the systems have a cap. tube as the metering device. I just want to get a guide line retrofit going on all these freezers this year so we dont have as many service calls.

You could try DuPont R422a ISCEON(MO79) or Icor R422c One Shot.
