Case will not go below 52* Name of Bakery Case AMTEKCO MD# WCCXOO23ACMW35 R404A 220V 1PH coil not iced-up -- good airflow cond. unit has a reciever 1 ton external equalized txv case is 5yrs old. Ambient temp.--85* Suction pressure is 78psig and discharge is 310psig. Superheat 10* Case setpoint is 36* Has a t/stat and llsv. Any suggestions!!??

Suction pressure is 78psig
35 degree coil temp.
There's your problem right there.
I'm not real happy with that head pressure, either. I'd look at a cond fan motor or a clogged condenser.

Do you have a history on the unit , if not:
Make sure cond fan motor is correct, look like a replacement?, correct rpm,s?
Verify with a amp draw of motor, make sure it's working, not just coasting along.(wrong pitch fan blade)
Just had a similar problem (high head)where a "willy-will-fit-all" cond motor was put on as a replacement, not enough air moving.
The same unit also had a "williy-will-fit-all" evap motor replaced at one time,
with the wrong rotation, so they just turned the blade around :eek2:

Is there a sight glass ?

Unit does have a s/g As far as history Manufacture said the cond. unit and txv was replaced a year ago! They also said the suction pressure should be between 50 to 60psig. When first arriving at call head pressure was at 340psig. After blowing the cond. coil out with high pressure nitrogen it dropped to 310psig. I eliminated any kind of contaminates based on a 30* rise = 115* condensing temp = 291psig. The cond. fan motor seems to be moving plenty of air accross the cond. coil and over the compressor. I am getting very good cool gas back to the compressor its luke warm with no frost on the suction line! I could not do an effeciency test on the compressor because there is no suction service valve! The unit will pump down and shut off on lp when llsv denergizes. Could the TXV be bad?

Might want to try to get more out of the condenser. When they are really bad, I use a foaming cleaner.
Try a performance curve on the compressor. Verify that the valves aren't damaged.

Does the valve tonnage match the coil tonnage ? If this is a self-contained unit why is the ambient so high ? No A/C or in a kitchen ?
