I have 5002 model that will not load up. I can manually make it load up with my gages connected to the suction and slide chamber port. My load selonoid can hold the compressor where I load it too just cannot load it on its own. I know that the slide chamber piston is likely leaking by and needs to be rebuilt. My question is that some time ago I remember someone telling me there is an external oil line you can run to provide enough to overcome the leakage in the slide chamber. I tried looking on line but could not find any info...has any one hear of this or was I dreaming?

Never worked on a Hitachi but a screw is a srew. If your putting pressure on slide valve and it is loading (and staying loaded) sounds like your load solenoid is not opening. (Nothing wrong with slide valve piston). But, if it has a single capacity control valve, like a York DXS comp. it could be stuck in the unloaded position. But this would unload as soon as you stopped putting pressure on slide valve piston. Hope this helps.
