i,m working on 5ton rooftop unit. high pres side will go up to 450 psi then make sound as if pressure relief valve opening to relief pressure. suction side pres ok at start then goes up to 80 psi. unit has ran fine until last hot spell. would this indicate a blockage or a blocked filter drier? any help appreciated

Why do you automatically suspect a problem with a blockage?
I believe that your problem IS indeed caused by a blockage, but not one within the system itself.

I could be wrong but it looks like too many basics of diagnostics have been left out. Need a lot more info.

The sad part is that someone could post that question and not respond to anyhting. We don't know if he didn't just blow up the unit!
