I am looking for a part-time job to supplement my income.I work fulltime at a hospital as a maintenance engineer with flexible hours.I have lots of plumbing and electrical experience.I have EPA universal certification and I am in charge of all the airconditioning and refrigeration preventative maintenance in the buildings.I have 22 credits in an HVAC program at our local technical college.I have installed domestic boilers and furnaces (someone else had to do the sheetmetal work for transitions and such)
My question is do HVAC shop owners consider part-timers?I have 20 years at the hospital and really enjoy my job.I am not thinking of a job change. We are doing more airconditioning and refrigeration work in house.I work flexible hours and am available 30+ hours a week. How about plumbing and heating shops?I live in northern Wisconsin and the heating season is coming fast.Any suggestions as to who would be likely to need a part-timer for help on installs or service?Any ideas or tips to secure something would be greatly appreciated.College tuition for my daughter is getting to be more than we can afford.Thanks.

I feel your pain Mark. They want our kids to become knowlegable but the price for tuition is out of reach for most.

I would look for a oil company in your area. With heating season coming up,they usally looking for a guy that can do the 5pm to 11pm shift.

This is what we did when I did oil work, believe me after
14 hour days and eating on the run,A guy like you was our
hero.

We all want the best for our kids, but if it become too much of a burden there are other option..Hvac comes to mind.

Good Luck!!
