I posted this message on the residential thread too but I'm thinking it might just as well belong here! The problem is my 20 year old Fort Lauderdale townhouse. The ducts are fiberboard and are looking pretty nasty. I am worried about having them cleaned because I've heard that cleaning often destroys these types of duct. I was wondering if there's a liner or similar type of product available to remedy this problem.

Not really...You could have the ducts ripped out replaced with sheetmetal than insulate the outside of the sheet metal with ductboard but this is very pricey. Don't bother have the ductboard cleaned it is pretty much a waste of money. Best bet is to have the ductboard replaced and add a better filtration system.
