Hi
I've got an old Manitowoc GD1292, that the copper lineset was hacked. The head claims that it holds 16 lbs of freon. This unit has the outside condenser. I charged it with 16 pounds but still get bubbles in sight glass. I assumed that included the lineset and condenser, am I correct in my assumption?
Thanks for any info

I don't know what's included but I can tell you that the TXV won't control properly without subcooling. I'd clean the condenser and the fan blades well and then charge to 8-10º of SC.

you dont need a full charge to make ice but you need it to harvest .. charge by name plate & let her rip. if freeze cycle & or harvest dotn seem right then figure out what component might be an issue

HI
Thanks for the manual, It's making ice, filled the bin overnight. They hacked the lineset from the outside wall to the condenser. Was left that way for a couple of years, never ran. The compressor was changed a few years back, and the oil was changed to AB. I pulled a 500 micron vacuum and installed a new dryer and sight glass, seems to be working great. I haven't added the extra two pounds of freon yet, kinda hate to mess with it the way it's working. The sight glass shows it's dry, so everyone is happy. Thanks again for everything.

Glad it is working. Depending on your area ,you might have issues in the winter with a low charge. You should really take pressure readings to make sure it is gonna be okay. Just my opinion.
