Just saw the machine. First time anyone from our company seen it. We had a torrential downpour Friday nite. Massive flooding. Well, this machine took a bath. Water line is at the mid point of the panel. Visual crud, water stains, and rust on all lower componets. Oxidation and condensation on everything higher.
Is it wrong to condemn everything, and do it new from ground up, or power up and replace things piece meal, one at a time, watching the sparks fly, with repeated call backs due to component failures.
Comments?

What components did you exactly condem? At least it didn't flood from the inside out. Lol

Everything that is wet, shows signs of being wet, everything oxidized. Basically everything in the cabinet.
Sewers backed up, and it was under water for at 24 hours. And I could say it did flood from the inside out, rather than the outside in. (but, it did come from outside, from the inside.)

Replace the contactors and the boards. The wiring is a different question i`m not sure what you could use to clean that up it would take forever to replace it .:couchhide:

I would replace everything in the cabinet for sure. Is this going to be an insurance job or not? If it is then maybe write the whole thing off, otherwise, for sure the cabinet. That was a bad storm, thankfully none of our equipment went under.

If you are thinking of replacing the controls and saving the bones of this chiller I would look at MCS controls. I have done several chillers and the customer has been very happy with the results. Less expensive then Carrier.

Definetly replace boards, relays and contactors. Be sure to blow out flex conduits and clean exv pinsand cable end with baking soda solution.Same with ant transducers and their related cables...
