I was reading online about this system and it sounds interesting to me. I have a little one with asthma (not a real bad case) and was wondering if this would be a worthy investment. I currently use the 3M Filtrete Ultra filters (Merv 12) in my a/c return and those seem to be working ok for her.

Is the Pure Air system overkill for me?

The most intriguing part of the system to me is the claim of 50% odor removal. I was specifically wondering if the unit creates a particular smell. I know the system is not supposed to have an "ozone" smell, but I was wondering if its anything similar to that.

Does anyone here have any experience installing or using this system?

Thanks!

The "pure air" slowy oxides the organic compounds to CO2 + water. The process is so slow that it requires constant operation of the a/c fan. It does not replenish oxygen which requires fresh outdoor air. Keeping the indoor humidity to <50%RH, fresh air ventilation and MERV 11 air filtering are the critical issues. The rest of this stuff is fluff! <50% RH stops mold and dust mites from growing in your home. These are the most common allergy problems. In addition to health, humidity control and fresh air is very comfortable and pleasent. Systems are available that are designed to preform these task.
