Over the past year or so, if I sit at the computer for any length of time, a pain like fire running up and down the sides of my spine occurs from between my shoulder blades up to the base of my skull.
Lots of cracking and popping in my neck, too.
Any y'all have this? What are your remedies?
I'm looking now for one of those desks that has the monitor hidden underneath and you look through a glass pane on the desktop. Anyone have one?
This is starting to scare me.

Doctors suck! Go for a half hour brisk walk everyday and eat an apple.

Sounds like cervical disc problems causing squished nerves. Time for an MRI. Lesser expensive alternatives would include a chiropractor or a hangmans noose. Not sure which of the last 2 is more dangerous.

This is a well-known heath issue in computer professional.
Changing to a more egornomic mouse, KB, your posing, KB height, monitor height would help. If the symptoms are not improving, see a doctor.

MRI seems over kill for first check,
chiropractic treatment injures far fewer people per year than family doctors.
Stop seeing wrestlers to adjust you ;)

How does the old joke go??
Patient: "Doctor, it hurts when I do this!"
Doctor: "Well stop doing that!"

I hate to sound like Andy Kaufman, but I actually tangled with a professional woman wrestler once and lived to tell about it. It wasn't my idea. She bet me that she could shove a red hot pepper in my mouth. Well, she lost, (barely) and it wasn't a pretty sight. And I wasn't about to try to make her pay up. Never again!!
She was a "friend" of the "lady" I was dating and I think she was a little jealous and was trying to make me look bad in front of my girlfriend. (Which she did.) But I still didn't eat the pepper, so I had a tiny shred of dignity left :D

I wouldn't even try for fear of losing. I'm big and it looks bad.

I used to have a pain in my neck after I had been on the computer for a long time. It started at the back of my eyeball and whent down to the base of my neck. I got glasses but that didn't work. Now get this I was playing with my mouse settings and slowed down the speed. I haven't had any problems since. I think I was straining my eye by moving it too fast.

Well, it was just one of those things that was destined to happen. If I had it all to do over, I'd have just said "Yeah, I'll bet you could shove that down my throat." (Then sucker punched the ***** and run away :D

There was a woman installer at my last job, a brute of a redhead. She used to ask me if I thought I could take her in a fight. What a no win situation. Whats worse beating a girl, or losing to a girl? ( I would have lost.) This woman loved making men squirm, lots of fun to work with.
