So Boss, can we do this? Based on the dis-respect that he shows, the fact that he has nothing HVAC related to discuss, that he uses this site only as an avenue to discuss his misguided moronic views...I say we boycott him...who's with me?

So the brawl is spilling out of ARP and into Gen. Disc. Why bring it here?

If you want to boycott somebody, seems like ignoring them would be the best way for everybody, including the Boss.

I'm a little confused. I thought the ARP *was* the place to discuss our misguided moronic views :D

I can certainly understand the sentiment here. Remember is not depictive of those who post on sites like this one for HVAC information.

People like remember are what are considered "moles" or "plants". These are people who's sole purpose is to disrupt the conversations of others with their own political and social rhetoric.

I don't like it when posters like remember disrupt forums that they can have absolutely no positive impact on, but, unless the forum administrators feel there is a problem it is after all "a free country".

Besides, having people like this post here allows them to be more easily tracked so they can be dealt with properly in the virtual world.

I don't agree with these type post..(well I do kind of) They expand the mud hole and put the dirty laundry in public when Boss has always said that you can e-mail him. Boss is trying to spend some quality time with his family and sh*t like this just makes a fresh mine field to return to.

Oh yea. i_got_ideas. You are a bigger A-hole than remember is. At least he acts like his brain trust is not in complete bankruptcy, where as you are just the run of the mill dumb A-hole. Have a nice day.

Well James, you just showed a side of you I had hoped had diminished.

First, you make nicey nice with Don by pretending to be concerned with his solice. Then you post remarks that Don is going to have to make a decision on as to whether or not the remarks are a personal attack.

The attack on IGI is ridiculous of course. IGI states opinions that I mostly disagree with but he does explain them rationally. Remember is strictly an antagonist. An antagonist that you just defended.

I call it like I see it.

I answered a 8"inch shell fired in my direction with a 16",and I didn't worry about IGI's head in your back side or how many Goodmans he drops in..

I am not so arrogant as to think Don can correctly judge other members opinions or that I think he should every time. In fact no one got pissed off more than me on that other post and a couple of deletes proves that. I took the hit and went on.

Don made those deletes and frankly at the time I wanted to kick his Canadian bacon up around his shoulders. I also don't see the role of a moderator as equivalent to "Judge of all Opinions...My Opinions...Or your Opinions" and many others opinions such as, "Go f*ck yourself".

I hope we are still friends.

I don't believe that remember or anyone should be banned if you wish to boycott great.
His and others post disturb and anger me greatly at times but it is their right to have their own beliefs. I will say this for remember he does put a great deal of thought and time into his replies. As I have said before there was a period when I had many of the same thoughts going around in my head mainly because I was reading the same books he is now. They are well written books and they do make you think about the state of affairs in the world. Most of us that are on the right leaning side have probably considered some of what he writes about if only in relation to those on the liberal side. I have read many books articles and briefs on the Tri Lateral commission the birth of the Federal Reserve and the gang at Turtle Island. I think it was Turtle Island it’s been more than twenty years.
The point is yes he is arrogant as are many of us he rubs people the wrong way and dis respect things and values we hold close to heart. However the exchange of ideas is how we learn and expand our knowledge base. That is after all why we or most of us are here to learn and share. We all gathered here to discuss our trade, which is what we have in common or at least most of us. Even within our own trade we don't agree on what is the best way to do things.

There are several things he has right there is not much difference between parties and they require each other and the adversarial role of politics to remain in power. President Bush is not the man I would choose to lead this country given the choice of anyone in the country. There are policies that he has made or not made that bother me. I personally think he is way to liberal when it comes to immigration and our borders also he is not fiscally conservative enough for me. He is however a much more palatable option than anyone the demos have as an option and light years better than kerry.
His resolve in the war in Iraq and fighting terrorist his belief and love of God is in direct accord with my beliefs.

Of course we're still friends. You think I'd let anyone but a friend tell me to "go f*ck myself" and laugh about it :D?

IGI is a good guy, just a little young. Be a bit more tolerant, you big tough guy you. Before you know it, IGI will be talking just we do when it comes to politics. He just needs to "live" a little bit more.

Yeah, let me live a little before you cut my head off James. I'm a likable guy that gets along with everyone. If anything you should be trying to change my mind, not just bashing.

Infact I'm so likable I get f*ucked over by too many people. I think this is why I'm not rich yet so I can be a republican :D . In my eyes Bush is an elitist. Maybe someday when I can benefit from the not double taxing stock dividends or his his improvements of capitol gains taxes I'll vote republican. I'm not saying republicans are bad, I'm just saying that I can't afford to vote that way. Tax cuts for those making over $200,000 a year is fine, but as of right now I'm not even close to that. However, I do know that most small businesses benefited, especially sole propreitorships did. I'm not totally nieve, just learning. I guess sometimes I feel like something is holding me back, I am capable of much more. Listen to the Big & Rich CD, song 5......that's me 10 feet tall in a 6 foot town....something's gotta change. I just have to vote who I will benefit most from right now so I can get up and runnin'.

classical
09-07-2004, 01:33 AM
IGI how does voting for some one that will stifle small business and investment as well as take money from those that produce and create jobs and give back money to those that don't contribute help you.
Didn't you receive a tax break and a tax refund under President Bush's tax relief bill? Well because of the Demos I didn't but everyone that I have heard that wants to vote for kerry did.
Wake up you are smart enough to see what is good for business and those that generate wealth and create jobs is what is best for you.
In fact you just described the very thing the president has done for the country that will inevitably benefit you and your family.
Don’t fall into the trap of doing what is good for me now do what is best for the country and the economy now it will benefit you in the long run. You should read a book called the Wealthy Barber.

Don't get me wrong but Bush hasn't helped me one bit.

1) NO I did not get a check from the government like many did.

2) Yes, last year was the first time I failed to qualify for an EIC (I made $46 toom much).

3) While taxes were cut on my employer I didn't see a penny more than the year before. We don't get raises EVER. Boss says, need more money work longer hours. Sometimes it does take over an hour to change an ignitor :D ...customers hate it.

Actually over the last few weeks I've been thinking about getting back into construction. I made 3 times more layin' shingles than I do in HVAC  . Yes, I was one of the higher quality contractors in the area and business was booming. I could handle building some houses, and now I can do the HVAC too ;) .However, I am the same way in HVAC but the money isn't there. The only good part about HVAC is it is more brain work and I don't go to the chiropractor twice a week.

IGI, read my philosophy in life at the bottom of my posts.

Then read it again……and again….and again……and again…….

Then don’t ever say I didn’t help you.

If you think your boss you are working for right now is going to take care of you or sell you that company, you are in for the shock of your life.

IGI, Ive seen in some of your posts that you are thinking about buying someone elses business. I would recomend not doing this. Get all of your things ready, and start on your own in April. Hire one guy(part time if you can) and start building your business. You know how to do the work. The hard part will be getting the work. Make a list of all the people you or your wife know and send them a card announcing your new company. Don't take out a big yellow page add. Network, network, network. Talk to everyone you meet and mention what you do and give them a card. Make it a point to be fair with everyone you work for and in a few years it will be time to decide if you want the headaches of employees. You can make it happen.

I'm not sure how we got here from boycotting remember?

IGI is a little confused on how $hit works in life.

He has potential though. I'll bet as soon as he gets his head out of his a$$ he will become a republican.:D

Me neither.

Believe me, I take all this information and absorb it. Really, sometimes it seems as if I am affraid to take risks. You guys pushing me into opening my own business is helping. That's what I really want, I know it, I just need a swift kick in the ass.

Hey James....not a roofer, I was a general contractor, built many new homes. Roofing sucks!!

But Rob, I sell Lennox too, ain't my fault Goodman sells itself. :D

But I have a question for y'all. Madinusa, you claim you control your destiny in life....sure, I think so too. But example: How do you start up a business as I want to with $0 in the bank and if business isn't booming from day one you're screwed? I've tried for a business loan, no dice. My wife is going to try for a women in business grant, that's my last chance or my destiny is NOT controlled by me. Just a hypothetical for ya, I haven't tried for a loan yet but I know my luck with bankers.

You don't need alot of money.

In the time you have been doing this HVAC thing, you should have accumulated tools.

Do you have a van or truck?

Make a list of all tools/equipment/supplies that you will need to do the work that you do and start accumlating them.

Then work on a marketing/advertizing plan..

If you are living paycheck to paycheck something is wrong

It might help to hit the library and learn about business

No truck, I'd have to sell my fun truck and get a practical one which would be no problem except the money.

I have all tools except a recovery machine, vac pump, and most metal working tools, which I can get all of those easy enough.

I have a full business and marketing plan in place, all I have to do is put it in action.

Yes, something is wrong, it's called underpaid from a greedy boss.

I know quiet a bit about business, enough to make a go at it though I am learning more everyday. I have located an association of retired business owners 30 miles north of me that gives free business coaching. I have several family members that own businesses that are great mentors too.

In reality the only thing missing is start-up capitol. Enough to cover the cost of the truck and the few needed tools. I'll need a shop 'cause my 1 car garage won't cut it. As known by common business standards I'll also need 5 years operating expenses to start. This is the bare minimum I can start with but that is a huge investment when you have nothing to spare. Best part is, I have a great installer ready to break off with me.

Believe me, it'll happen though, I'll find a way.
I may never vote republican (or I may) but I'm gonna listen to y'all, I'm trustin' ya. It'll take some time, several months, but me and my wife are gonna give it a go.
My sister is a CPA and my sister in law does all the accounting for another business, and my mom runs a good sized corperation. We'll "git'er dun!!" :D

Honestly, I just can't wait to give my boss my 2 weeks notice :D , and then to see the look on his face when he hears what I'm doing. The crooked bastard(there's stuff I haven't even told you guys) deserves it!!

Idears -

Brian (INFWSDM) is right - it might be simpler than you think to break out. I haven't done it. I want to - but haven't quite got the cajones assembled yet.

What the hell does your moniker mean, Brian???

On topic -

I do have one question regarding remembers - has anybody gotten any business from him? I've sent business to two members here - some of it even profitable :)

I come and rant and rave, but I think I'm pretty respectful, and try to provide a contribution in the form of data - but like remember, most of my postings are in the ARP section.

So....Am I likely to get put up for a boycot? I'd like to think I'm at the very least, a useful idiot :)

Keep him around - I need somebody to bicker with.
