:D Dice, I totally understand but EVERY SINGLE winter, you gotta dig out of snow. While we do get the occasional hurricane (or himmicane), the last was in 1959 here, we never have to dig out of snow. I'll take Beaufort, SC, anytime.

To each his own..........
At least when the snow is gone, my house is still there.

I look at it this way, there is always a plus side in living in them areas in Fl. Where else can you live and get a new home every couple of years and all it costs ya is your deductable? Or have your home remodeled every couple of years. Dont sound bad at all to me.

i grew up in Pittsburgh, and now live in atlanta. I do not miss the snow, especially the shoveling i did as a kid!
Dad was with US Steel back then and helped sponsor Junior Achievement for years. One year they sold titanium snow shovels, dad still has his, even though he lives in south florida
electricity was rarely off, and i remember missing school only once due to snow. here in atlanta, if they forecast even a flurry, all of the bread and milk disappear from the shelves.
hey dice, got a snowblower?

Hey Dice I much prefer Texas we don't get snow but every 14 years and then it doesn't stick. Hurricanes don't bother us much either it does however rain occasionally. I hate cold I hate cold did I mention I hate the cold.
I do however understand your liking PA my mother is from MARS.

I have always enjoyed the seasons changing. There is plenty to hate about snow though. Driving in it, shoveling it, the cold temps...But there are things I would miss.
New pair of gloves...10 dollars
New hat to keep bald head warm...15 dollars
New waterproof boots to keep feet dry...35 dollars
Snowball fights, sled riding with the kids, snow on X-Mas eve, and sitting in front of the fireplace with the family while it snows like hell outside...PRICELESS!

He put down his Hurrican shutters before he left. His next door neighbor stuck the storm out. He was on the cell phone with her every couple of hours. Another neighbor lose thier roof and the shingles were all over my brothers yard but the report he got said that his house was okay. Just some turned over trees, missing screens and a few shingles are gone but the felt is still in place.

Yeah, really. Is it me, or should we get some sort of award for wierdest town names?
Within a 15 minute drive, I can see the likes of Canadensis, Cresco, Analomink, Tobyhanna, Bushkill, Tunkhannock (Twp.), Blakeslee.
Going a bit further, I did a call in Wyomissing today.
How about Mauch Chunk. So bad they changed the name. To Jim Thorpe.
They get wierder the further west you go, though. No doubt about that, but in South Central, we have Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, etc.
Odd.

We have intercourse in Florida too. Just not with farm animals. Well maybe in the panhandle, they do.
Any wimp can shovel snow. It takes a real man to cower in a closet in 150 MPH winds.

At first I was bragging and explaining, but by 8pm I'm sure it will turn to complaining. You'd think they would tire of that. Might not be so bad if it didn't take so long or had some eye protection.

I love the snow and wouldn't trade off the few months of it that we do get. It's when it rains and turns to 1/2" of ice then snows an inch on top that sucks.
