Vacuum question?

hi.

Can someone tell me- If a vacuum is not pulled on an installation or during servicing. Will it affect energy consumption of the compressor. I know acid can form and compressor damage can occur down the road, but was wandering if electric bill is also affected. Im not a technician, or else I would know the answer; but just doing some research. Thanks

Yes, if air is left in the system it will increase the condenser pressure which makes the compressor work harder. However, there is still the concern about a chemical breakdown of the refrigerant and oil.
