RESTRICTION

HOW CAN I TELL WHERE A RESTICTION IS LOCATED. EXAMPLE: IS IT IN THE CONDENSING UNIT, IS IT IN THE EVAPORATOR, OR IS IT IN THE LINE SET.

I would start by cutting the lines from the coil and the condensor, now you have all 3 sections isolated. Blow nitrogen thru the coil if it goes thru ok that is good, if you blow nitrogen thru the line set and it goes thru it is good. Now the tricky part turn the t-sat to cool but you got to hurry at this when the condensor starts and nothing happens at the port or nothing comes out that may be the restriction,you can also blow nitrgen thru this also. Good Luck finding it let us know where you found it at? In all honesty your gauges should tell you and experience now please turn off the caps i dont need yelled at at this age.

You can collect temperature readings at different points of the lines set or before and after componnets. There are some visual signs such as frost and no frost. And of course there is the pressure reading methods of finding a restriction. :cool:

Tap on the lines with a pocket screwdriver till you hear a sound difference.

You have to use a Kline flathead or a Stanley phillips, anything else just won't work. :D
