Dine out: Little Gus' on lower Greenville in Dallas. Greek food, Greek music, great ambience. (Little Gus, the owner, was about 6'7" and 285#.)
Dine in: My Aunt Hilda's at her home on St. Helena Island, SC. Fresh seafood right off the docks in her front yard. I drool to think about it. (She was average size.)
Worst
Chow Hall at Ft. Jackson, SC. (barf-ola)

3 other places in Dallas area come to mind.
Black-eyed Pea...homestyle cooking served homestyle still in the pots on the tables.
Old Spaghetti Warehouse...fantastic sauces.
The third I can't think of the name of it. It's off Stemmons. Great steaks and a dance floor to work off your meal. They don't allow ties. You go in wearing one, they cut it off with scissors and nail it to the wall. Walls are full of ties!

It's not the S.F. Steakhouse I'm thinking of. The S.F. Steahhouse has the trapeze thingy. This place looks on the inside like a frontier ranch house, sawdust on the floor, wooden picnic style tables, rough hewn walls, the works. Maybe it's closed.

Green Mountain

Nice medium rare steak cooked on a charcoal fire. And a couple dozen of little neck steamed clams. Salt for the steak and melted butter for the clams. Don't bother me for awhile.
The worst: Someone already said beef tongue. But equally replusive is pickled herring. Both of these items make the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

My Grandma's saturday night dinner she use to cook for us. Just your basics. Fresh Green beans and asparagus from her garden, she'd sautee them in something like butter and grease. They were awesome. The potatoes fresh from her garden. She would boil them and then mash em up with skins on, and some seasoning. Then she'd fry a hamburger patty, bigger. With the grease from frying the hamburger, she'd make this gravy out of grease, flour, sugar, and a bit of milk and call it milk gravy. She would pour that on the potatoes and the hamburger patty with the beans and aspargus. Then home made lemon marengue pie. Folks, not store bought, I am talking she made it from absolute scratch.
The worst dinner I had was like the whole first year me and the better half were together.

Best: Too many to name,#1 is anything my wife, mom or granny fixes. 1 that comes to mind is a hole in the wall called Tasty Bird. It's an old poultry store that offers carry out. It's now owned by an African guy and the bbq is off the hook good. He even fries rabbit if we coax him enough.
Worst: Chittln's "they smell just like what they are" I have never tried them since I can't get past the smell, pickled peaches, I hate boiled turnips.

Not to go off subject but some of you have demonstrated you have a keen awareness of the Fort Worth/Dallas area. I will be in town the 25th in Plano for a wedding. Quick question. Is that a real bible banger area. Seems like there's a church on every corner..

In some areas, yes every corner.
But there are plenty of drunks, dopers, prostitutes, and persons with all manner of lascivious habits.
Which group were you looking for? :D

Were going down to a wedding for a cousin of mine and I was looking at the area on MS Streets and Maps. The invite had some directions on it and a breif lay out of the immediate area in Plano where we will be. I found it odd that there is a Marriot where we will be staying and with in every corner or so from there, is three different churches.

Small Texas towns are built. The Baptists, Methodists, and Church of Christ all keep a close eye on each other. Thats why they build within spittin distance of each other! :D

Cow's Tongue I forgot about that--The spanish eat what they call-Taco lingua y nopalitos- translated to a totillia with strips of boiled cow's tongue and strips of cactus in it. I tried it--it was like chewing rubber bands and mushy green beans--BAD,BAD-So I recind my WORST choice of BBQ pork to this--Hands down this is the WWOORRSSTT!!!!!!
