Right now I am on a one-week paid, mandatory vacation.

Gonna start out PM's full steam on August 30th.
Still gotta get me one of them scopes...
This should be a good sales year, I got about 20 systems marked for changeout that were limping along last year.

Same here, slow summer and even slower fall. We'll start PM's in a couple of weeks. I'm at home doing "Honey Do" projects. I could take a couple of calls but I'll let the younger techs get the hours, they need the money more than I do.

Money is an issue this year... So no real vacation for me.

My wife is taking 16 months off of work to go to nursing school and clinicals full time (50 hours per week)...

So we are once again living like college students... I don't mind there is no better investment than education.

This is as narrow as I will put it:

I do work in Fenton, Holly, Grand Blanc, Swartz Creek, Flint, Clarkston, Davison, Goodrich, Hartland, White Lake, etc...

Basically around 23 and 75 between Flint and Detroit

I have to maintain some anonymity or else I could not gripe the way that I do for fear of offending the bossman if he frequents this site.

We've been terribly slow here. I'm not on layoff but wish I was, would be making more then. We have one guy on partial layoff.

If this winter is mild I am going to go nuts.

It seems being slow and poor :( is more stressful than being swamped and carrying pocketfulls of cash. :D

Office staff here is on 4 day weeks, techs & installers have been running 30 hours typically, a little better this week due to some 80s & humidity.

Tomorrow is my day off!!!!! Better not rain :)

I got so much fricking work lined up it is unbelieveable. We are good till Christmas. We have a manditory hour a day OT for all in the installation department. The 2 lads that really worked hard this summer are going back to college. Which will hurt.

We are way ahead of last year. I've always heard it said that the first million is the hardest. :D

Layoff...no such luck. At least 40 a week but more like 50-55. In March I'm going to California and Vegas...then it's 0 hours for a couple of weeks. I'll probably want 100 hours a week when I get back, just can't win in this business!

We have been busy, but not as busy as last year in service, we had a real mild Aug. temps are stiil in the mid to high 80"s so its not to bad. I have had to do some filler stuff for the tech's this year. like grilling out new houses, ect.

I was just in Flint two weeks ago to look at job, didnt look to busy in Mich.
About as slow as Ohio :(
Our sales have been in the toilet for July and August.
Top-notch, your Carrier distributor is Great Lakes?

Slower than slow is a good description. Rarely a 90° day even this August.

Can't figure why the company don't do a layoff. Does it cost them that much? Instead all are getting less than 30 hrs a week. Two guys who stayed on last late winter could have grabbed about 4 wks of unemployment. Oh well, one good cold snap like we had last week will force the furnace to be thought about or a heat wave to get those compressors going.
