I got a bit of a dumb streak today, I was in a hurry.

The lightning was crackin' and the rain was about ready to cut loose and I still had to vac down and charge a condenser I was working on. I needed to clean my Supco VG64 vac gauge but didn't have any alcahol. The closest thing I had was automotive brake cleaner.....

:( BIG MISTAKE!!! :(

Seems the break cleaner don't like that plastic. The plastic case cracked all over and fell apart, the cleaner made it brittle or ate it away or something. Let my $140 mistake be your warning.

Brake cleaner works great for cleaning all sorts of stuff, just don't get it on plastic!

i once used brake cleaner to clean scum out of a moisure separator on an air compressor. i knew brake cleaner was bad for plasic, but i thought the piece was glass. i found out it was plastic when it turned white while wiping it out. i screwed it back on and turned on the compressor. it got up to 100 PSI and BOOOOOOOM. plastic shards everywear. luckily no one was hurt. won't make that mistake again.

I once used contact cleaner on a Maple Chase digital setback stat. Took the front off, sprayed the heck out of the contacts, put the front back on, and after a few seconds the buttons wouldn't depress, so I went to take the front off to see what the problem was, and it wouldn't come off! The tuner cleaner had fused the buttons to the front where they came through the holes.

Looked at the can and it said "DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC"

Take note dudes; Brake cleaner is only good for two things:
1 cleaning brakes
2 using it on the paint of the guys car who stole your p###y!
LOL..... Pabull.
P.S., Confusious say:" Man with hand in pocket, feel "cocky" all the time". Beer is good! :)
