Unless you are rolling in cash...

You shouldn't need a manometer until you are doing service, which might be a couple of years.

When you do need a manometer, consider a Magnehelic. Go to Dwyer's website and look over the various models available, and also do a search on "Magnehelic" on this website. I use the 2002AV model as I work with VAV systems as well as residential/light commercial systems. Consider also the portable kit that makes the gauge truly portable and able to be placed into your tool bag without being damaged or scratched up.

I have gone through this with so many co-workers and bosses over the years. When the time came for me to spend my own money I bought a digital manometer from Dwyer. They are the best and my digital covers everything. The Dwyer is rated for nat. gas as well. My old truck needed 3-4 magnehelic guages on it. At $90-100 a piece that is far to much money and room on a shelf compared to my one digital. It easly fits inside my toolbag for any and all jobs. I know so many who have been disapointed with the UEI ones. They are not accurate and break. Spend the money and buy a good one when the time is right.
