Our six year old Econar Geosource 2000 five ton unit started leaking water on Friday, not a lot, but enough to raise concern. When the compressor and fan kick on it sounds just like when your washing machine is draining after a rinse cycle.

I haven't had a chance to pull off the front panel yet to see if I can visibly ID the source of the water, but thought I would start here to see if anyone knew what I might be up against.

Thoughts?

That's a pretty heavy leak. My gut tells me it wouldn't be the actual loop or your condensate drain. It may have something to do with a hot-water recovery system. Do you have that option installed? (a.k.a. desuperheater). If so, hopefully your unit has a switch to turn it off. That's an easy first step.

Talked to a tech at Terratherm and he suggested the condensate drain was the likely culprit, and he was right. Cleaned out the offending muck, flushed the tube and we're back in business.

Many thanks to top rate customer service from Pam and Rob at Terratherm!
