I have the sc76 and love it. I meter for all.
After having this one with attachment heads I think I would rather have the stick meter.
Hind sight is 20/20.

I have this one (HS-35):

...and love it. Highly versatile without sacrificing accuracy for the most part. Accessory heads I have include dual temperature measurement, anemometer, mili/micro-amp, and amp clamp. I also have one type k thermocouple that came with the meter and a Fluke clamp temperature probe that works just fine on the Fieldpiece.
And that magnetic hanging strap is the poop. You can also get test probes with alligator clips at the end, and you can remove the tips on the regular test leads and plug in any accessory head to the leads. This is handy when you want to get an amp reading on an indoor blower with the blower door on the air handler in place. Just use the amp clamp connected to the leads, close the door, and light off the blower. True amp draw of motor right at your fingertips.

Yep, those are nice. That will be the next one I buy as soon as I can sucker someone into buying my UEI :D .

I just got the 36 model (basically the same as the 35, with a few more features). Haven't used it much, but from what I have I like it so far.

I have an hb-73 that I have used for over ten years....good meters imo.
What Shophound said is VERY TRUE! And what
amickracing said is also true.
Go with the HS-36 because it reads TRUE RMS. More accurate.
I have a 35 and love it. I will say that there is one thing I'm not real happy with is that it takes a second or so to level out when it reads voltage. It dose BEEP when there is high voltage (above 50) present so your safe but you gotta watch the display for a second or two to see the final number.
Great meters over all. I have four different ones form Fieldpiece. Highly recommened!

I, also, have an SC-76 & think it is great! It does everything but feed the dog! After using it & getting familiar with some of the accessory heads, I think I would like the stick meter better. The HS-36 not only reads true RMS, but it also has a back-lit display. The biggest advantage to the 76 is that the clamp-on ammeter is built in- it's a good all in one meter.

i just bought the hs35 --my other meter was stolen --i have it with the manometer ,amp clamp ,the k thermo, and alligator clips--after 2 months now i really like the magnet strap it measures ok anything very critical i wont use it for ,but for intial troubleshooting and general use it was a good purchase

I've has that HS35 for over a year now, and haven't had any problems with it. Two other guys I work with have both had to send theirs to the factory for repairs. They had a problem with the display going blank intermittently and now reading voltage when voltage is present.
Overall, I've been very happy with mine, but I still keep my Fluke as a backup. One other thing, make sure you insert and remove the temperature probe vertically every time, and that you don't pull on it. I've talked to a few guys who have to hold the connection "just right" to get it to read temperature.
