No war here. It's the brand I happen to be selling at the time. The rest are all awful.

Water Furnace for Geothermal....imho.
Well Im not afraid to tell you what I think is the best brand of equipment. Its the brand that they dont change all the parts every time they come out with a newer model,so your drivng around pulling a semi to carry all the parts I might need. Its the brand that wont sell you out to the big box stores,Its the brand that has a real good waranty but does not try to cut you out of making a good profit by having a low markup on warranty parts and labor or sell you out on warranties so you are just working for wage and not really making any profit. Its the brand thats willing to admit that if there is a problem that they will notify you right away on the problem and make good on it and not just hope it will go away. Its the brand that advertizes to get you customers instead of spending all their advertizing dollars to get new dealers. Its the brand that tests the new models long enough getting the bugs out so your not making your customers guinnee pigs.
Now if I could only find that brand......so I guess I will just keep installing the ones that have a good availability of parts being they all have their problems and are only as good as the person that installs them and maintains them. A piece of junk installed right will run better then a great piece of equipment installed wrong.
Oh by the way if you know a brand that meets all of the above criteria let me know what it is .....lol

I think Dec summed it all up! Thread closed! :D :D :D :D
The best brand never breaks down.
The second best brand doesn't cost much to operate.
The third best brand has universal parts that don't cost a lot to change.
The forth best brand doesn't cost much to install.
Did I cover enough brands???

I have to go with Trane, but just about any brand will give years of relativly trouble free service if it is installed and maintained correctly.
I'm kind of partial to Trane since our company is a Trane Comfort Specialist dealer, and only sells Trane equipment though. ;)
Due to the weather circumstances in north Texas this year, Trane really has my loyalty. We had a very mild winter, mild even for Texas, and have had a welt cool summer. Average daily high for july was 93, compaired to 99 last year...
While other companies are struggling, quite a few even going under, our equipment sales are way up this year. A very high percentage of those equipment sales have been to first time customers that found us through Trane's web site.
It shall remain my little secret what customers have told me is the reason they called us instead of one of the 4 other Comfort Specialist dealers listed for our service area. :p

I think they're the best on the market. My decision is less on personal knowledge and more in talking to other techs and home owners.
Just like choosing an installer. Choose the brand with the best local support.

My old boss stood behind Goodman.
My new boss Sells York and Trane.
My Parents have a 24 year old Janitrol furnace that works fine. Never had a problem with it. They added a Carrier A/C in 96 it work good too ?
