Is it just me or does that unit resemble a Goodman?

I know it's not the same, just resembles one.

Wierd....that looks very similar to another brand I AM a fan of only in stainless steel and with a different name on it. Everything down to the hail gaurd and rounded corners and the electrical access all look familiar. hhhmmmm :D .

OH yeah, looks good by the way!!

Seems to me that Nordyne had the louvered cabinet on a cube before Goodman!

Jason how much butt did you have to kiss to get a Maytag distributorship in Houston ?? I would have figured the big boys would have all the territory in houston all closed up. I've tired talking to several supply houses and they all tell me that maytag is territory protected. Which makes it fun because if you manage to get a territory you have to sell the heck out of maytags or else they will "pull" your distributorship. Atleast this was the way it was explained to me. Did they give you a yearly quota to sell ?

you know the new code for armeflex is 1/2 inch right? Yours looks a little small, like the code it was before the new code change.

Actually didn't have to do any butt kissin. They called me and wanted me as their dealer. They so far are taking care of me and doing what they said they would. Set me up with a nice floorplan and everything. Only thing they asked me to do was sell around 100k worth per year and we do that and some easily. So far so good

Not to be critical...just wondering, doesn't it come with an internal liquid line filter? If so why the external L/L filter?

Nope, the 1010 units come with an external dryer. 16cu inch

Not sure about the 1000 series. We don't sell any of those

The stainless makes it a nice looking unit. But if they are going all out on quality materials, why do they have such a small electrical compartment? Are the thermostat wires all bunched up into a 1.5 sq. in. compartment like the others? Is there a sound blanket on the compressor that sits under the fan? The only difference I see is the stainless. Otherwise, I'd rather have the Trane unit that sits next to it. Sorry.

So much for supporting the lineset and Liquid tite.

Wow, I can't believe that they don't have a filter with the unit. Seems like everyone does it now. Looks cool tho. I'm still partial to Trane.

The compartment is a bit tight. The T-stat wires are in a larger area. The compressor does come with a sound blanket. I used to sell trane also, loved the units, only problem was our distributor. I go where they take care of me. Hence maytag.

That's completely understandable. Trane has never been easy to deal with locally for me either. I prefer to promote AS if it becomes necessary.

Maytag is a Nordyne product as is Frigidaire. So far they have lived up to thier end with me be the only dealer in Bennington.

I have worked on a lot of Nordyne stuff and they are pretty good. I don't usually get into bashing product names because I thnk they are all basically the same it just depends on the design, installation, and maintenance. I just personally like Trane. I have a Goodman system in my house tho (it came with the house) and I will keep it until I need to swap it out.

nordyne had hard case and copeland compressors before goodman....although i agree that they are all pretty much the same...jason the stainless steel looks good

That thing looks like the "RoboCop" of condensers to me. If it is a product of Frigidare, then the A/C end is ok. But their furnaces suck. Too friggin noisy.
BTW why not install new lineset, looks like the old horse cock is a little dried up. If anything run new armaflex.

I noticed on the website they have a 10 year worry free warranty, parts and labor. Do they pay you or are you expected to do it for free to keep the line?

I thought it was a 5k buy in for the Maytag exclusive territory?

No, they use equigaurd as the included warranty. They pay us for any claims after 30 days of install. Good allowances. We get to field scrap all parts on claims instead of returning. All claims are done on the internet. Makes for fast payment.

I may have to take a hard look at getting that line. It's not hard to sell a good name and great warranty. Unfortunatly none of my local suppliers carry them.

Specky lookin' unit... never seen a stainless one before. It would look good in my living room! Errr... ya know, if you piped it in Hard ACR and fittings with unistrut on that brick, c/w Unistrut clamps... then they'd put your picture in the local paper... fer sure! :D
