There is something to this. The rich of this world have priveledges that that can pass on to their children. Us regular people have less chances. That is the way it has always been and will always be. It is probably better that the president has an inside track to all these influential people. He knows the people that can get things done.

None of it matters though. I did not want to go to Yale. I do not want to be president. I just want to be a christian and do the best I can. No sense in cry about the things that do not matter.

Spin us a conspiracy theory that matters in our lifes and we can do something about. Otherwise you might as well complain that the sky is blue.

The "rich" have more choices in life due to the fact they have made better decisions.
In my mind, the more choices you have, the more rewarding your life will be. The quality of choices one has is directly related to the decisions he or she makes on a daily basis.
It comes down simply to this. The rich are willing to do what the middle class and poor wont.
For example, the "rich" never buy liabilities; they only buy income producing assets. These assets in turn will buy
them the things they want in life.
The middle class simply spends tomorrow’s money today. We acquire liabilities to feel rich. Eventually our liabilities exceed our income and we begin to amass a large amount of credit debt to artificially prop up our illusion of living the "rich life". Then like little soldiers, work the rest of our lives paying for that illusion until the day we die.
The only one who got "rich" was the creditors, lenders, retailers, etc.
I believe each one of us, regardless of our circumstances, can live a truly "rich" life. You just have to understand what it means to be "rich".

I don't delude myself that there is anything any of us can do.
I'm just posting on an hvac forum something meaningless to most.

and I don't spin conspiracy theories,I have been writing over and over again about the influence of particular personalities on the fabric of our political landscape that shapes our culture.

and I associate those particular personalities with the decisions made by the few for the many.their possibe intrests and some of the ramifications.

not only this little war in iraq,or the dependence of our security on the flow of petroleum,or the animosity of the foreign cultures and religions of the world, and a large chunk of the people here in america that love their country, to the "un-american" activities of those making the foreign policy for the united states for the last century.

and i'm still too idealistic to just throw in the towel.

"It is better to fail for a cause that will ultimately succeed than to succeed for a cause that will ultimately fail."

and I'm hoping that the globalization process can embody the good side of what makes america great.for the world will join eventually;(interdependance) or die at the hands of the true globalists(the money-changers)as they bring us together through the back door.
the world consitutional movement, will supercede the national constitutions if we follow the federal model of union.the united nations, the organization of american states(north, central and south),the african union, the european union, got some more.
nafta ,cafta,gatt,

treaties will sell us out to the supra-national beaureucrats like they sold out everyone else.

america will only be a place on the globe,in a police state like the rest of the world,if the uninformed let the economic intrests decide their future for them.
like by supplying all the candidates they get to choose from, when they vote.

the cycles of civilization are still revolving.and we are entering the final stage of "universal empire" as opposed to creating another stage of expansionism.(that is not self-destructive)

to be aware of the forces aligned against the populace ,is the greatest strength for that populace.
to be unaware, will lead to being misled.

The childern of the rich get more choices than the childern of the mid class, because their parents can buy them more. Ivy League is very expensive and has no scholarships. We can only dream of going there. This is not because of a choice that we make. It is because of choices our ancestors made, and a whole lotta of luck.

But I am happy with the outcome of my decisions. I am much "richer" than most millionaires. I just have less toys.

Remember

Yeah my little post above was crude, flippant and not in the least intellectual. It was but an unsuccessful attempt at humor. Once in a while there's a need to lighten up.

Does there exist a cabal of the rich who hobnob in secrecy in an attempt to control the political power in this country? Perhaps... It does seem a little more than coincidence that all those names are linked to one organization.

Money is power. This country offers the best political and judicial systems that money can buy. And we can bet our last dollar that it all can be bought. I personally know of a murderer who is out playing golf instead of rotting in prison after having shot his girlfriend. He even warned a friend of the woman ..."If you see Bernie, tell her she is history". That sentence shows premeditation ...not a crime of passion. Yet because the murderer's father had wealth and political influence, the guy spent a total of 3 months in jail.

Our judicial system offers a blinded woman, holding the scales of justice as a symbol of how in theory our legal system offers justice to all, regardless of social status.
The reality is, the blinded woman represents we the public who cannot see the money being passed under the table.

Money is power. That's the way it was, is, and forever will be. So whether it is the Skull and Bones society. The council on foreign relations, or whatever power cabal the conspiracy theorists choose to focus on. What's the point?
Can anything be changed? It's just human nature that keeps repeating itself over and over all throughout history. You can stay up all night, tossing and turning and reading the gazillion books on all conspiracies, get yourself worked up, have ulcers and make the book authors rich.

Bottom line. Our energies would be better focussed on providing ourselves and our families with the most comfortable life possible, because ruminating on the realities of the powerful changes nothing.

I have NO debt. I consider myself middle class. I've done well in the stock market and have acquired the skill of using other peoples money to make money. This is a major talent the rich use to acquire wealth.

I actually live a pretty stress free life.these "coincidences" are merely a hobby of mine.

and actually ,these power players used to be kings and feudal lords.
nowadays the super-rich and the real powerplayers have to hide ,for fear of losing their heads if there was an actual revolt of the people.they hide behind politicians and corporate boards and holding companies.

these people on the lists are more the intermediaries rather than the real aristocrats, because if people get mad, they get mad at what they see.that seems to be an inbuilt saftey mechanism.

so people do have an effect.
the revolution,(american, french)was an example of things going wrong for the powerplayers.the bill of rights for the people was a thorn in their side.
hopefully the "danger"of this world won't trick people into letting go of feeling a need to be protected from an all too powerful gov't.that doesn't respond to the people short of mass movements.
the framers did create those protections, the beaureucrats attempt to dismantle them.

It's not being rich that makes a man wicked. It's the love of riches that makes him evil. "...for the LOVE OF money is the root of all evil." Man doe not handle wealth well at all and it becomes a stumbling block. Enough is enough. More than enough is never enough.

I guess I did mistakenly have you pegged as a paranoid, angst ridden soul.

I worked with a guy in the early 1980's, an ex-marine, WWII
veteran, who survived the Tarawa combat. He was into all the conspiracy stuff very heavily. Gave me a copy of "None dare call it conspiracy" by Gary Allen (I think),which opened my eyes to the behind the scenes things that you talk about.

He was part of the "Tax Revolt" movement which was big at that time. "The IRS has no constitutional authority, so I'm not paying any income tax". His blood pressure was always up, ranting and raving about the CFR, Hapsburgs, Rockefellers, Posse Comitatus ....all that stuff. His wife was dying of cancer and the IRS took his house and sold it to pay his back taxes.

He was right...most of the things he ranted about were and are true. But here he was in his early sixties, all stressed out, facing retirement, his house and savings gone.
Within a year of his wife's passing, he dropped dead of a heart attack. He was living with his widowed sister-in-law.

That he was right and had big enough cajones to live his convictions as a veteran of the Tarawa beaches, while admirable is also tragic. He should have been down at the VFW tipping a few and swappin war stories. But he died a bitter, broken man. His name was Milan Anthony Cicak, a patriot.

Maybe it's enough just to let them know that we're all not oblivious to their workings. Even after revolutions, after the slate is cleaned, the caca floats to the top and it's the same thing with just different players. Just don't let it consume you like it did Mac.

"none dare call it conspiracy" is a great book.and when that book was written(1970),people were worried about communists,so that was "the boogeyman" of the day.

I find it interesting that when people pick apart and attack the "john birch society" and their arguements, they say there is no "communist conspiracy",which is probably true.
the "cfr",could be a rockefeller cosa nostra.and the books of theirs:"none dare call it conspiracy",by gary allen 1970
and
"The council on foreign relations;and the american decline"by jeff perloff 1988
or,"the invisible government",by dan smoot(FBI agent)1961,all give names that have since publishing dates, become the leaders and shapers of the world we live in.so these guys were right as to who,and there hypothesis as to why may be debateable.but the scheme they are after looks like it stinks from the outside.so in asking the people on the inside if they think it is a conspiracy,is it suprising they don't see it that way?

but the fact remains people are invited to join ;THEN they begin to have "stellar" political careers, journalistic, buisness,.

in fact to just say this group of people "control" the money system, gov't,international relations, etc. ;leaves people with the wrong assumption, that this group is actually important and their is some secret de jure rule that is controlling everybody.which is obviously not true.

but the truth is that there are many angles those with the where-with-all have contrived and taught their sucessors to continue.and when you name names, people can see that the story isn't of some shadowy group ruling from afar, but those people you see everyday, that may not be as self-made as their publicity coordinator would have you believe.and may explain why we have two candidates for president of this great country ,that are at best;mediocre.Who really thinks these two guys are the best that a country of 280 million could offer?

and I just find this particular group and its sources to be immensely interesting.because they literally have touched every major political event (by one of them being "one of them")in the last century.so for as much influence as this group has with it's many levers of power,it is mind-boggling that there have been no "intrest" pieces done in the major media.being that they are the best "reality show" you could ever have.the silence is deafening.and peoples pavlovian response to the tripword(idea)of conspiracy, related to "their"gov't,is startling, considering I have not met more than a handful of people that don't think politicians are less trustworty than used car salesmen.democrat and republican.their ignoring the elephant in the room,is a mystery to me.

actually I'm getting used to the fact that this is A powerbase to contend with(not the only one, probably just the strongest)
but seeing how peoples opinions are formed based on what they think they see,and how easily manipulated people are with their "culture"being used against them,is the situation I'm looking at now.and the dangers of being herded in the present(and past) direction.with a million different opinions.

back in the 60's and 70's,those guy warning of a "world" gov't were in a hard place to prove anything to anybody.to tell people that there gov't was dangerous to them, when there was no technology to "imprison" the people.

but now we are all in the "electronic"world.
our financial records are on file ,
our cars are getting "black boxes",whether we like it or not.with the pentium4 chip, and beyond new neuronets are possible that could allow access to us,and the internet hookup to the power grid(to come)could have vast implications.our communications systems are under surveillence as we speak(on this board)(nsa-project eschelon). The paper money we use now has "strips" that can be detected,if you try to carry too much abroad.our fiat money system,is being converted to an electronic "credit"system,(where if you become a dissident ,you won't be able to buy a gallon of milk.)and the eye will see everything we do /buy,and have a record of it.and our voting machines are getting to be like "virtual voting.this upcoming election @1/3 of the voters will have no record of their vote ,except the machines tally(and we all know machines never mess up)and the media wasn't so concentrated into the companies of the very people we need protection from the most.go micheal powell("CFR"colin's son)chair fcc.
not to even get into the infringments of rights that didn't exist back then, like the patriot act, cappII and all the other police state apparatus like the FEMA plans incase of national disturbance(terrorist act, mass revolt/uprisig/protest,and natural disasters and industrial accidents(nuclear)),which is written to suspend the constitution in an emergency.

and europe was still a bunch of little countries, now they are a force to contend with and a competitor in the world market.their money system is being consolidated.the euro.
and we have the organization of american states(OAS)and the african union.and china and russia are now trding partners and areas of potential growth to our economic system.the world is getting smaller.

but thanks for your concern,i'm fine.
too bad about your friend,I too picked up on this stuff from some "old-timers".I have also seen that life exists outside of our system.and it is good.so I keep a foot in each camp.to fight against this system is pointless. I say the way to go, is to go through the system, realize the pitfalls of being co-opted.keep my wits and make the best of it.

have a good day

I'll never forget a speech or it could have been one of his "radio chats" that Jimmy Carter gave during the lame duck period of his presidency, just before Reagan took office. He was saying that we americans would have to lower our standard of living, that in comparison with the rest of the world we just had too much.

I remember thinking how odd these remarks were. I thought if we're smart enough to create our standard of living, then the rest of the world could emulate us and our methods, rather than we have to drop to their level, let them aspire to our standard of living.

As the years have rolled by...I can see that ol' Jimmy's words have come to pass. Reagan showed big business how to deal with a cocky union ..adios Air traffic Controllers.
Companies right and left are moving offshore. We see stupid commercials with guy's wearing hardhats saying "We've gotta compete in the global economy!" yeah right, when the factory wage for unskilled people in China is 60 cents per hour. Then ol' Clinton pushes Nafta through, which further opens the floodgates for companies bailin out.

At first it was just the blue collar widget makers at stamping machines who were losing their jobs. Now it's the white collar clerical and engineering types who are seeing their job stability disappear. 44 million people with no health insurance and 80% of them are working full time.

At this rate...we'll have the standard of living of Bulgaria in about another 30 years. I see the is, but I can't fathom the why.

Since you have aquired wealth, your children will have more chances than you had. All I am saying. Might be good or bad, depends on how you want to look at it. I personally feel sorry for the spoiled little brats.

Jimmy was not the first to saying those things about our standards of living. Adam Smith predicted those things 100 years before. You want to understand the true global capitalistic system, read "Wealth of Nations".

No predudice, just facing the facts. I know poeple with enough money to burn a cow, but they are good people. I also know poeple that will not even look down their nose at you because you aren't wearing the right kind of shoes.

A friend of mine once said that he had been throw out of some of the nicest boarding schools in the country. I went to public school. We are still friends. His kids are good kids. One of them worked for me 2 summers in a row. I have seen poor people who think they should be able to have everything and never have to pay for any of it.

Entitlement is just that, feeling entitled to something. It does not matter if you are rich or poor. I would rather have a full wallet and a full soul. But if I could just manage to get one, I choose a full soul. I don't care if you have better toys than me. I like my toys just fine.

The fact remains, Kim, that you have said his kids are spoiled brats without knowing them. That, my friend, is prejudiced.

I did not say his kids are spoiled brats. I said I feel sorry for the brats. When daddy buys you everything you ever wanted, some people lose sight of real values. Many rich people as well as poor people raise their kids well. Just because you are rich does not make you raise brats. Lack of parenting skill makes you raise brats. Not all poor prople are stealing or living off the government either.

BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA. IT'S CALLED NEPITISM. Any one ever tried to get their kid a job, or did your pops ever get you a job? Thats our culture. It doesn't make it right but we all do it in one way or another. As far as skull and bones Kerry looks the most like a skull and bones.
