why do these units continue to run the evap fans during defrost whereas walk in freezer turn them off, makes more sense to not blow the heat around,????

These units (coffin frrezers) continue to run the fans in order to distribute some defrost heat to the air passages, they have to operate under extreme conditions with wide td between discharge air temp and ambient temp and require the fan assisted defrost.

Have rewired a couple that someone thought the fans should have been off during defrost. Terminator/overtemp limit shut off defrost before coil was cleared of ice and bottom layer of product was getting partially thawed during each defrost.
