Hi - I have been in the kennel industry for approximately 15 years or so now. Almost every busy season, there always seems to be an inevitable boarding dog that comes in and practically wipes out my whole group with some kind of stomach flu/virus. It isn't genearlly dangerous, just vomiting etc for a couple of days. We currently use some kind of UV sterilization in the HVAC system which heats and cools two wings, and i was just wondering if this was the best thing available, or if there's another approach to take. We have always disinfected our kennels daily with bleach/disinfectant hosing system as well as require our customers to provide current immunizations. Any help or info would be appreciated, even if it's to tell me there's nothing more i can do. Thanks!!

A couple of County Humane Sociaty's swear by them in Ohio. I wondered myself and asked them. Was told that the addition of UV in returns of air handlers cut way down on employee/volunteer's health issues.

Im sure the director of Huron County Humane Sociaty would be happy toanswer your questions about UV in kennels etc..
